About

History – The Wheels Project is a Limited Company (no. 02745215) and a registered Charity (no. 1081236) based in Bristol and since 1979 has been delivering education programmes in motor vehicle studies to disadvantaged and disaffected teenagers who live in the Bristol, Bath and south Gloucestershire area. Since then we have developed, adapted and changed a range of services to suit the changing needs of these young people and their communities. We work primarily with young people who are failing in mainstream education, show low aspirations, low motivation and challenging behaviours.

Partners – we work in collaboration with a wide range of organisations with which we share common values and goals in equality, diversity and inclusivity. These include:-

  • Alternative Education Providers
  • SENDCO Units
  • Mainstream Schools
  • Youth Groups

  • Social Services

Quality Assurance – The Wheels Project is an Approved Alternative Learning Provider following annual inspections from Bristol City Council and South Gloucester Unitary Authority.

In 2020 The Wheels Project was the recipient for the Queens Award for Voluntary Service.
