BEC Students Gift their Mercedes Vito Van to CSV

Students from Brislington Enterprise College (BEC) handed over their 'community vehicle', a Mercedes Vito Van, to Joe and Nick of CSV's Environmental Project on 21 March.

Joe said, "Elderly people in Hartcliffe, South Bristol, will benefit from the donation of this van to CSV's Environmental Project which provides a landscaping and gardening service so that they can carry on enjoying their gardens when maintenance gets beyond them. CSV has been working with the Job Centre to provide work placements for the long term unemployed so that they have the opportunity to gain a certificate in work based horticulture so that they can improve their chances of finding work. We were approached by The Wheels Project in Brislington who wanted to donate a vehicle to us and we jumped at the chance."

An elderly Hartcliffe resident has said, "Having the CSV team look after my garden has meant that I have been happy to stay living in my home of 40 years.  I have always been very proud of my garden but found the care of it more and more difficult.  The team from CSV always do a very professional job and are very friendly too."

This Community Vehicle Programme for these BEC students was part-funded by the Henry Smith Charity.
