Success in Round 1 of the British Schools Karting Championship

3 teams of 3 drivers who have been taking part in The Wheels Project's BSKC (British Schools Karting Championship) Prep Programme raced last night, out of school time, in Round 1 of the British Schools Karting Championship at TeamSport in Avonmouth.  The students were from:

  • Castle School
  • Chipping Sodbury School
  • Merchants' Academy

The behaviour and driving skills of the boys were exemplary and each driver can be proud of their efforts, regardless of where they finished.  Competition was fierce and the standard of driving very high from all the teams - 7 teams were competing for 2 places in the next round which is due to take place at Llandow Karting Club in Cowbridge on 15 March at 1330 hours.

Special congratulations to the team from Chipping Sodbury School (and their reserve from Castle School) - they finished 2nd in all of their races and qualified for the next round!

The students had attended our BSKC Prep Programme during Terms 1 and 2. They had been referred through South Gloucestershire's Work2Learn Programme and Merchants' Academy and the course had been funded by BBC Children in Need.
