Semi-Finals of the British School Karting Championships

Three of our students who are based at Orchard School in North Bristol qualified for the semi-finals of the British School Karting Championship which was held at Thruxton Racing in Wiltshire on Sunday 26 April. These students have been training with The Wheels Project since November and have done really well to reach this stage.

They were competing against 18 other teams who are based in a range of schools and colleges around the South West. Unfortunately despite their best efforts they failed to qualify for the finals on the 18 July as they did not finish in the top 6 places. Full details of the finals follow the link www.bskc.co.uk

Congratulations to the students who conducted themselves with dignity and enthusiasm and were a credit to themselves and their school. This was the first year that these students had competed in the competition, whereas clearly there were others who were competing in their second and even third year.

Unfortunately the students were a little short of practice on the outdoor circuit due to exams and the greater expertise of the other experienced drivers which put them at a disadvantage. Despite this they remained sanguine and cheerful.

Better Luck next time!
